Safety Operating Standards for Inflatable Castles for Children

Safety Operating Standards for Inflatable Castles for Children

2025-12-16

Inflatable castles bring joy to children. The current "GB37219—2023 Safety Standards for Inflatable Amusement Facilities" provides comprehensive safety guidance for operators from selection and installation to use, covering multiple dimensions such as site construction requirements, material processes, anchoring and fixing, load control, and post-maintenance.

1. Site Construction Requirements

(1) The site for inflatable amusement facilities should be far away from potentially dangerous objects, such as overhead power lines, fences, trees, and falling objects.

(2) The slope of the ground at the site for inflatable amusement facilities should not exceed 5%. The ground should be free of external or protruding hard and sharp objects, and protective mats should be laid.

(3) If there is a large crowd around the inflatable amusement facility, a perimeter fence should be set up. The fence should be at least 1.8m away from the perimeter wall of the inflatable amusement facility, at least 3.5m away from the open edge, and the fence entrance width should be at least 1m. (4) When the enclosure of an inflatable amusement facility is against a solid wall of a building, the height of the solid wall should be at least 2 meters higher than the highest point of the inflatable amusement facility platform.

2. Product Material and Manufacturing Process

(1) The product material is environmentally friendly PVC, which is safe, non-toxic, tear-resistant, and flame-retardant.

(2) The stitching uses a double-thread sewing method, with a stitch length between each stitch being 3mm-8mm.

(3) The stitching should use corrosion-resistant thread (such as polyester fiber or nylon), with a tensile strength of not less than 88N.

3. Fixing Method

(1) Inflatable amusement facilities used outdoors should have at least 6 fixing points. Each fixing point and connecting component (such as ground stakes or ballast) must withstand a tensile force of ≥1600N (approximately 163 kgf) to prevent overturning in strong winds.

(2) When ground anchors cannot be used on hard ground (such as plazas or shopping malls), a ballast system (sandbags, etc.) must be used instead. Generally, the fixing points should be evenly distributed around the perimeter of the inflatable amusement facility. (3) When inflatable amusement facilities are used outdoors, the design wind speed should not be less than 11 m/s.

(5) Inflatable amusement facilities used outdoors should be equipped with an anemometer with an overspeed alarm function.

4. Maintenance and Storage

(1) For daily cleaning of the castle, use mild soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge to gently wipe the surface of the castle. After cleaning, allow the inflatable castle to dry completely.

(2) When storing inflatable amusement facilities, avoid contact with harmful and corrosive substances, and pay attention to rodent prevention, moisture prevention, rain prevention, and light protection. Prevent any sharp objects from scratching, tearing, or puncturing the fabric.
